The homozygous recessive individual i was given was .0432 and the population was 1000.
P^2 - Homozygous dominant individuals Q^2 - Homozygous recessive individualsP- frequency of the dominant allele Q- frequency of the recessive allele2pq-Heterozygous individuals
Step 1 .) First i entered my homozygous recessive individuals into the equation then square it which gave me my frequency of recessive allele. Which was .657
Step 2 .) Next i used the recessive genotype and subtracted it by 1 to find frequency of my dominant allele and got .343.
Step 3 .) After i got my p or frequency of the dominant allele i squared it and found my p^2 or homozygous dominant individual which was .117.
Step 4 .) Lastly i found my heterozygous indivual which is 2 multiplied by p x q and got .148 .
Next i used my percentages and found the number of individuals for the population .
1.) P^2 .432 x 1000 = 432 homozygous dominant individuals
2.) Q^2 .117 x 1000 = 117 homozygous recessive individuals
3.) P .343 x 1000 = 34% frequency of the recessive genotype
4.) Q .657 x 1000 = 66% frequency of the dominant genotype
5.) 2pq .148 x 1000 = 148 heterozygous individuals
